Welcome to the lab! Together we're going to go on a culinary journey filled with delicious treats and all the science you could need to make you the best baker possible!
I can already tell what you’re thinking: “Lab? What lab, aren’t we in a kitchen?” Boy do I have some good news for you – the kitchen is a lab! In here, we’re going to test hypotheses rooted in the chemical and physical properties of food to create something full of flavour and structure – don’t you feel smarter already?

Hi there! My name’s Jayne and I am a food photographer, recipe developer, and food scientist in the making.
I am passionate about combining science and baking into a delicious combination that is enjoyed by everyone. I am currently undertaking a Bachelor in Food Science and Biology, so you can trust that I know what I’m talking about at least 90% of the time. My main goal is to spread how easy it is to learn complex science concepts in a hands-on environment such as in the kitchen, whilst making something that tastes good along the way!
This blog is filled with recipes that contain my heart and soul and I hope you’ll enjoy them as much as I have.
